Interim Senior Accountant Location: Northvale, NJ (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote) Compensation: $45–50/hour Duration: Several‑month consulting engagement with potential for extension Our client, a well‑established and growing organization in Bergen County, NJ, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support its accounting team during a critical period. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and can quickly contribute to month‑end close, financial reporting, and general accounting operations. Responsibilities Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analysis. Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies. Assist with financial reporting and ensure timely, accurate completion of accounting deliverables. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting as needed. Maintain compliance with company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP. Partner cross‑functionally with finance, operations, and other internal stakeholders to support day‑to‑day accounting activities. Assist with audit requests and preparation of supporting schedules. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls. Participate in ad hoc projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory‑driven environment. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close. Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is highly preferred. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams. Ability to work onsite four days per week in Northvale, NJ, with one remote workday.
