We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our team at our Paterson, NJ facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Compliance Specialist will help ensure that our facility and operations remain compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, industry standards, certifications, and company policies.

This is a hands-on role that combines compliance administration and documentation with regular interaction on the plant and warehouse floor. The Compliance Specialist will maintain compliance programs and records, conduct routine inspections, coordinate audits, track corrective actions, and support training and other ongoing compliance requirements.

• Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, DOT/Hazmat, fire, environmental, and other regulations applicable to our operations

• Maintain required permits, certifications, filings, inspection and training records, and compliance schedules, ensuring recurring requirements and renewals are completed on time
\n
• Conduct routine facility and operational compliance inspections, identify potential gaps, and track corrective actions through completion
\n
• Coordinate internal, customer, certification, insurance, and regulatory audits and inspections, including preparation, documentation, auditor support, and follow-up
\n
• Coordinate the facility's SQF program and annual certification audit, including year-round documentation, training, traceability, mock recalls, corrective actions, and audit readiness
\n
• Support Hazmat and chemical-handling compliance, including applicable packaging, labeling, shipping documentation, employee training, and DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements
\n
• Maintain compliance procedures, SOPs, controlled documents, and programs related to fire protection, spill response, emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, and employee training
\n
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve compliance processes, documentation, recordkeeping, and overall audit readiness

• 2+ years of experience in compliance, quality, environmental health and safety, or a related role in manufacturing, chemical distribution, food ingredients, warehousing, or another regulated environment
\n
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting manufacturing and warehouse operations, with experience in areas such as OSHA, EPA, environmental, or DOT/Hazmat compliance
\n
• Experience preparing for and supporting regulatory, customer, or certification audits and inspections
\n
• Experience with SQF, GMP, HACCP, GFSI-recognized programs, or other food safety and food-grade standards preferred; SQF Practitioner or other relevant certifications are a plus
\n
• Familiarity with chemical handling, hazardous materials, SDS, Hazard Communication, labeling, and related compliance requirements
\n
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain accurate records, and work effectively with employees, management, auditors, and regulators
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
