Human Resources Assistant
Build a career in Human Resources that makes a difference. Human Resources is more than paperwork. It is the foundation of every great school district. At Inglewood Unified School District, our Human Resources team is modernizing systems, streamlining processes, embracing technology, and creating exceptional experiences for employees from recruitment through retirement. We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant who is organized, curious, resourceful, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new technology, and committed to exceptional customer service. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a career in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, employee processing, records, HR systems, data, events, and special projects. If you are energized by helping people, solving problems, learning new systems, and finding better ways to get work done, we invite you to apply.
The Human Resources Division is where people, purpose, and possibility come together. Our work is centered on building and supporting an exceptional workforce so that every student in Inglewood Unified School District has access to outstanding educators, leaders, and professionals committed to their success. From recruitment and onboarding to employee benefits, professional growth, labor and employee relations, workforce planning, credentialing, classification and compensation, leaves, and HR systems, our team supports employees throughout every stage of their IUSD journey. Our approach is grounded in IUSD's vision of a Beloved Community — a community where every person is valued, relationships matter, equity is practiced, and we share responsibility for one another's success and well-being. In Human Resources, that commitment comes to life through responsive and compassionate service, meaningful collaboration, equitable practices, and a belief that every interaction is an opportunity to build trust. We are also a team that believes Human Resources should continually evolve. We embrace innovation, technology, data-informed decision-making, professional learning, and continuous improvement as we build modern, people-centered systems for a changing workforce.
The Human Resources Assistant is an entry-level specialized position and serves as a first point of contact for the Human Resources Division. The position provides administrative, recruitment, records, personnel data, technology, and customer service support while working with established Human Resources procedures and systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both people and data. The Human Resources Assistant supports recruitment and selection activities, employee processing, personnel records, Human Capital Management (HCM) system transactions, routine reports and data validation, HR events, and department projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, handling confidential information, learning new technologies, maintaining highly accurate records, and providing welcoming, responsive, and solution-oriented service.
At IUSD, we believe every student deserves an exceptional education and every employee has the opportunity to make a lasting difference. Serving the vibrant and diverse communities of Inglewood and Ladera Heights, IUSD is committed to preparing students to become self-responsible, self-disciplined, critical and creative thinkers who are equipped to succeed in college, career, and life. Our mission is grounded in equity, innovation, and a deep belief that every student can achieve at high levels when provided with high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and the support they need to thrive. As a district, we are investing in the future through innovative instructional programs, expanded career pathways, modern learning environments, technology integration, family and community partnerships, and comprehensive student support services. From early childhood education through graduation, we are dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and engaging schools where students are inspired to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. At IUSD, our employees are our greatest asset. Whether serving in the classroom, supporting students behind the scenes, or leading districtwide initiatives, every team member contributes to our shared mission of educational excellence. We foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and exceptional customer service while encouraging professional growth and leadership development at every level. If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact, embracing innovation, and helping shape the future of public education, we invite you to become part of the Inglewood Unified family.
