Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' symptoms related to eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions, ensuring an accurate understanding of their needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are informed by assessment findings, collaborating with clients to set realistic recovery goals.

• Utilize specific evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower clients in their recovery journey.

• Facilitate effective therapy sessions aimed at addressing distorted beliefs about body image, food, and self-worth, while supporting emotional and psychological growth.

• Mentor clients in developing healthy coping strategies, enhancing emotional regulation, and resisting disordered eating behaviors through therapeutic tools.

• Work closely with the treatment team to ensure that care is coordinated, comprehensive, and addresses the holistic needs of clients.

• Provide psychoeducation for clients and family members to foster understanding and support regarding eating disorders.

• Maintain precise and timely documentation reflecting clients’ treatment progress, plans, and encounters, complying with ethical standards and local regulations.

• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development opportunities to continually enhance clinical expertise, particularly in eating disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position centers on clients struggling with various eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Virginia.
\n
• Proven expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.

• Strong understanding of the multifaceted nature of eating disorders and associated co-occurring conditions.

• Exceptional communication abilities, with a focus on building rapport and fostering trust with clients to facilitate open dialogue.
