Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and floating to a sister step-down unit.

Job Details

• Work in a 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down unit within a hospital setting,
• ICU patient ratio of 2:1 and Step Down ratio of 3:1,
• Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, neurologic conditions, complex metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure,
• Manage continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, invasive arterial lines, mechanical/noninvasive ventilation, and titrated IV medications including vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and antiarrhythmics,
• Provide enteral or parenteral nutrition and frequent lab monitoring with complex medication regimens,
• Floating required to sister unit 5S to cover Step Down (1:3) or progressive level patients at a 4:1 ratio,
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30,
• Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required,
• 13-week assignment length,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand,
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start,
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address,

Additional Information

• Deliver critical care nursing to a medically complex ICU/Step Down patient population,
• Facility follows a radius rule allowing local candidates at a reduced pay rate, with the specific mileage varying by location,
• Travelers are encouraged to discuss assignment extensions with their manager approximately 45 days before the end date,
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this assignment
