Position Overview MedSphere Counseling Inc. is actively seeking an empathetic and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team, focusing on providing trauma-informed care to clients who have experienced significant emotional distress. In this full-time role, you will work remotely from your location while delivering support to our clients located in Lakewood, New Jersey, and beyond. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments to understand each client's history and therapeutic needs, establishing the groundwork for effective treatment. Develop personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and long-term wellbeing for each individual client. Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to assist clients in processing their experiences. Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients to articulate their trauma experiences and develop practical coping strategies. Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary staff to provide comprehensive, cohesive care to each patient. Provide timely crisis intervention and support for clients in need of immediate assistance related to trauma crises. Educate both patients and their families about trauma responses, healthy coping mechanisms, and accessible resources for additional support. Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of all sessions to comply with legal and ethical standards. Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings aimed at enhancing trauma-informed care practices. Stay current with the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy to continuously refine therapeutic skills and practices. Patient Population / Client Focus The primary clientele of MedSphere Counseling Inc. comprises individuals wrestling with the aftermath of traumatic events. Our clients may include survivors of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, veterans with service-related trauma, individuals having endured significant life challenges, or those coping with anxiety stemming from complex trauma. The impact of these experiences varies greatly from person to person, making personalized treatment plans essential to promote healing. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the State of New Jersey. A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred. Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and expertise in trauma-informed treatment practices and resilience-building techniques. Proficient in trauma-focused therapeutic interventions, with experience in delivering EMDR and TF-CBT. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and nonjudgmental demeanor. Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress scenarios. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant software applications. Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, embracing collaborative care methods. Preferred Experience While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with advanced experience in specialized trauma therapies, additional certifications in trauma-informed care, or extensive work with diverse populations may be prioritized.
