Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative school setting just outside Minneapolis, MN. This is a contract position for the 2026-2027 academic year, where you'll work with a manageable caseload of up to 10 students alongside dedicated paraprofessionals and an intervener. Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education teaching license (PELSB/MDE required—cannot consider candidates without this credential)
- Tier 2 licensure required
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) students preferred
- Prior background working in inclusive elementary education settings or with specialized support teams ideal
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of each student on your caseload
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with parents, support staff, and administration
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment for students with diverse learning challenges
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and an intervener to maximize student success and engagement
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing program evaluation
Position Details:
- Contract runs from September 1, 2026, to June 4, 2027
- Weekly hours: 37.5–40
- Caseload limited to ensure focus and impact, with robust in-class support
