Job Overview Human Resource Management & Development (HRMD) is part of the university that advocates for the GW community and consistently provides discreet, valuable, and personalized service that is timely and responsive. HRMD helps GW maintain a diverse workforce of the highest caliber and to support employees in their roles within the university. HRMD strives to attract, retain, and engage the GW community and beyond. Talent Acquisition works with applicants, the HR business partner team, and hiring managers to manage recruitment of staff. The Recruitment Coordinator supports recruiting activities, playing an essential role in posting jobs on internal and external websites, providing customer service for internal clients and external applicants, processing hiring documentation and background checks, and producing offer letters. Responsibilities also include monitoring advertising to ensure an adequate applicant pool and participating in recruiting events such as job fairs, phone screens, reference checks, and orientation. Responsibilities Schedule phone interviews and screen candidates for open positions. Schedule interview panels and facilitate interviews on‑site and virtually. Post jobs on the internal GWU Jobs website and on external websites; provide posting guidance and support. Monitor assigned job requisitions to ensure advertising produces a reasonable quantity of applicants. Process hiring proposals, conduct background checks, and produce offer letters. Respond to applicant inquiries with a customer‑service‑oriented, positive approach. Participate in recruiting activities such as job fairs and new‑hire orientation. Assist in scheduling the weekly orientation program and support new hires in a positive onboarding experience. Call and speak with candidates, handling questions or intake escalations for the team. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field. The degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred Qualifications Background check/screening experience. Ability to maintain confidential material. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Keen attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with others. Ability to multitask and prioritize daily activities and events. Experience working in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
