Work Environment

This position will be conducted remotely, allowing for a flexible work setting that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Your work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to accommodate patient schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that consider the cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of elderly individuals.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for each patient, addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.
• Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy through virtual sessions, ensuring empathetic and effective interventions.
• Collaborate seamlessly with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care that encompasses medical, psychological, and social support.
• Offer crisis intervention for elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and immediate support strategies.
• Education is a vital part of the role—provide patients and families with comprehensive information about mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and community resources.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation according to legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in geriatric mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a geriatric population, dealing with complex mental health issues that often accompany aging. Patients may face challenges related to cognitive decline, chronic illness, and significant life transitions, including loss and caregiving responsibilities. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping these individuals navigate their mental health journeys, providing them with the support and strategies necessary to improve their emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure as LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois is required.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably in geriatric mental health settings.
• Proficient understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, including effective treatment modalities relevant to this demographic.
• Solid experience in delivering either individual or family therapy to older adults, with an emphasis on empathy and effective communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment of rapport with patients and families.

Compensation and Benefits
