Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct assessments and provide services from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of our organizational structure. Working virtually provides the flexibility to meet clients where they are most comfortable, whether that is through teletherapy sessions or virtual support meetings. While our primary interaction will be through digital platforms, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to enhancing client outcomes in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Engage directly with children and adolescents experiencing major mental illness and severe emotional disorders through individual and group therapy sessions.

• Establish rapport and trust with clients and their families, promoting a secure and supportive environment that encourages open dialogue.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and medical professionals to devise and implement individualized care plans that link clients to necessary services.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including screening and reporting, to tailor interventions that meet the developmental needs of our young clients.

• Provide crisis intervention as necessary and follow protocols for safety and risk management.

• Maintain ethical standards and adhere to the code of conduct of the New York Mental Health & Diagnostic Center while documenting client progress and maintaining records in our healthcare management system.

• Participate actively in team meetings and committees that focus on quality improvement and service delivery enhancement.

• Respond to on-call duties as required, ensuring that clients have access to immediate support when needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position centers on working with a diverse population of school-aged children, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds or those facing challenges such as trauma, behavioral issues, or significant life changes. You will play a critical role in helping these children navigate their mental health challenges while working closely with their families and educational institutions to create a stable support system. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for these young individuals, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

Qualifications\n

• A valid LCSW license in the state of Pennsylvania.

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; a Master's Degree is preferred.

• Expert knowledge of assessment techniques, diagnostics, and treatment options specific to children and adolescents.

• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and planning abilities.

Preferred Experience\n

Prior experience in school settings or with youth-focused mental health programs is highly desirable. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and crisis management techniques is a plus, as is experience in working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
