Accounts Payable Clerk (Temporary)

TITLE: ACCOUNTS PAYBLE CLERKFLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPTREPORTS TO: ACCOUNTING SUPERVISORSUMMARY:Under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk reviews payables for accuracy and authorization, generates payment requests, compiles data and runs various accounts payable (AP) reports, reconciles invoices using the Oracle accounting system, and interacts with and responds to inquiries from other departments regarding payables-related issues, and resolves vendor inquiries. This position is located in Milpitas, California.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reviews payables for accuracy and to ensure proper authorization prior to paymentGenerates payment requestsCompiles data and runs various AP reportsReconciles invoices using the Oracle accounting systemInteracts with and responds to inquiries from other departments regarding payables-related issuesResolves vendor inquiriesOvertime may be required contingent on business needsAdheres to all safety policies and procedures as requiredPerforms other duties of a similar nature or levelMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GEDThree years of experience working in accounts payable processing large volumes of invoices (75-100/day)Experience using Oracle accounting software or similar accounting systemProficient in the use of Microsoft Office ApplicationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:General knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and techniquesExtensive knowledge of the AP function, including processing invoices, resolving issues, and verifying payables for accuracy and authorizationKnowledge of Oracle accounting softwareKnowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentationsAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, management, and vendorsAble to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and managementAble to comply with all safety policies and proceduresDemonstrated organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skillsFlexible and able to prioritizeThe annual rate for this full-time position is between $23.00-30.00 + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.WORKING CONDITIONS:The Accounts Payable Clerk works primarily in an office environment from Monday thru Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Spends a majority of time in a seated position but occasionally stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment.
