Critical Support Technician

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business. 27.00 per hour Job Summary The Critical Support Technician role acts in a “floater” capacity, supporting multiple labs and locations as assigned by the Account Director(s). The position is designed to provide critical support across multiple client locations as directed by current business need, covering open positions, employee time off, vacation coverage, and emergency coverage. Working hours and schedules may be changed and/or augmented as needed. Responsibilities Have strong communication skills internal and external via text, email, telephone, and face‑to‑face. Respond to daily client/tenant requests and internal company requests in a timely, professional manner. Keep areas around buildings clean (laboratory space, property grounds, halls, loading docks, etc.). Receive and ship packages and reconcile packing slips with an understanding of temperature sensitivity. Perform basic carpentry and installation tasks such as mounting shelves, installing pictures or whiteboards, and simple repairs. Maintain basic tool safety practices. Monitor pressure gas/nitrogen systems and change cylinders/tanks safely and efficiently. Be trained for safe hazardous waste handling of bio bins/device disposal. Be trained for cleaning and maintaining decon equipment. Maintain basic paperwork according to client/tenant needs. Have basic knowledge of building and lab management systems. Ensure safety equipment such as showers, autoclave, eye wash, and fire extinguishers are available and functional. Perform basic inventory tasks. Maintain awareness of different lab environments and safety levels (e.g., ACF GMP Clean Rooms). Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Six months of prior work experience in a related environment, demonstrating good attendance, professional behavior, and reliability. Ability to follow orders given orally and in writing. Ability to complete tasks and paperwork with basic supervision. Computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook). May require an active driver’s license and personal vehicle. Expectations of flexibility to travel between sites in the Greater Boston area as business demands. Work Environment Small-to-large office environment. Fast‑paced work environment with moderate noise levels. Exposed to a combination of normal office and shop environments, including dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products, and noise. Physical Demands Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint. Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision (with correction) sufficient for reading, performing repairs, and painting.
