Medical Assistant OB/GYN

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant - OB/GYN is responsible for providing certified medical assisting support in an adult outpatient gynecology clinic setting. This role involves performing clinical and administrative duties under supervision, ensuring efficient patient flow and quality care. The Medical Assistant must have at least one year of experience in an adult outpatient setting, with OB/GYN experience preferred, and be certified as a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C). Strong familiarity with EPIC charting and reliable transportation are required. The position is a 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-hire based on performance and fit.

Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in the OB/GYN clinic.
Prepare patients for exams and provide patient education as directed.
Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and administering injections as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EPIC electronic health record system.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Ensure clinic rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members to coordinate care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Current Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential (MA-R, MA-P, or MA-HT not accepted).
At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an adult outpatient setting.
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Reliable personal transportation (public transportation not acceptable).
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Previous experience specifically in an OB/GYN clinical environment.
Familiarity with gynecological procedures and terminology.

Special Considerations:

No weekend or on-call requirements.
Candidate must have no additional scheduling restrictions and be able to commute reliably.
Contract length is 13 weeks with possibility of temp-to-hire based on fit and performance.
Strict requirement for MA-C certification; pending licenses are not accepted.
Facility attire and scrub color to be confirmed with the hiring manager.
Guaranteed hours may be reduced by up to one shift per pay period.

Scheduling:

Five 8-hour day shifts per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
No weekend or holiday shifts required.
Shift schedule is fixed with no block scheduling or floating expected.
