About the Role

Our client is seeking a Buyer with experience in purchasing and NetSuite ERP to join their growing team in Knoxville, TN. This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, or materials planning who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Buyer will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, processing and tracking purchase orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting day-to-day supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using NetSuite and a strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with production, inventory, and supply chain teams while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, process, and manage purchase orders within NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.

• Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery, proactively resolving supplier discrepancies, delays, and shortages.

• Maintain accurate SKU, part number, pricing, vendor, and inventory data within the ERP system.

• Collaborate with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to align purchasing activities with demand forecasts and production schedules.

• Support inventory control initiatives to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages or excess inventory.

• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure continuity of supply.

• Assist with ERP system enhancements, data validation, and process improvement initiatives.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze purchasing trends, manage data, and generate reports.

• Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and inventory management processes.

• Support domestic and international purchasing activities as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or materials planning.

• Hands-on experience using NetSuite ERP for purchasing, inventory management, and purchase order processing.

• Strong understanding of purchasing practices, inventory control, and supplier management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting and data analysis.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.

• Associate degree or higher preferred.

• Experience with additional ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

• Exposure to ERP implementations, migrations, or system transitions.

• Experience managing a high volume of SKUs or part numbers.

• Experience with international purchasing and supplier management.

Work Environment

This position operates within a manufacturing-focused environment and requires frequent use of NetSuite and purchasing data. The role is highly collaborative and works closely with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to ensure materials are available to support business operations. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $31.25/hr.
