Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and document all client interactions from the first consultation through to the completion of treatment.
• Evaluate the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients using effective clinical methods.
• Develop customized intervention strategies and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on specific needs and circumstances.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to encourage progress and understanding.
• Monitor and document client progress throughout their treatment journey and adjust intervention plans as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care for clients.
• Follow up with clients who may require hospitalization, maintaining communication with attending physicians to ensure a seamless transition back to outpatient care.
• Proactively identify and mitigate behaviors that could hinder recovery, providing preventive strategies to clients and their families.
• Support family members and primary caregivers by offering guidance on managing mental and behavioral health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with a diverse population of adults experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and various emotional disturbances. Our goal is to create tailored therapeutic interventions that resonate with each client's unique experiences and cultural backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and understanding in our approach.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts.
• Successful completion of relevant examinations, including the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Solid experience working within a mental health counseling capacity, demonstrating a deep understanding of therapeutic practices.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with co-occurring disorders, including mental illness combined with substance use issues.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
• An understanding of pharmacology and the effects of various medications on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 , commensurate with experience, coupled with a sign-on bonus.
