What You'll Do

• Provide specialized care for critically ill patients in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU
• Administer medications, including invasive procedures such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas
• Monitor hemodynamic stability and assist with post-op cardiovascular care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and responses accurately
• Respond efficiently to emergent medical situations like MI, respiratory failure, or ventilator management
• Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery processes

What You Need

• Required:
• RN license in Louisiana or a valid compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience (new graduates accepted with preference)
• Preferred:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Experience with complex cardiovascular cases, CRRT, and post-op cardiovascular surgeries

About the Assignment

Join a busy, high-acuity unit managing critical illnesses such as DKA, MIs, and respiratory failure. You'll work with a team dedicated to delivering excellent patient care in a collaborative environment. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 in ICU and 4:1 in IMCU, fostering quality care with adequate staffing.
