Position Summary: Director of Human Resources
As the Director of Human Resources, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company. We're looking for someone who's passionate about creating a workplace where people thrive and who tackles challenges head on. You'll work to maintain and improve processes, create and manage programs that support efficiency and employee engagement, handle payroll and benefits administration, and support managers as they lead and manage their teams. This role is both hands on, helping individuals navigate their employment and career path, and consultative, guiding managers and executives in decision making that is equitable, compliant, and aligned with the dealership's vision for a thriving team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
As our Director of Human Resources, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things HR, ensuring our team members feel supported and empowered. Your responsibilities will include:
- Colleague Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor for discussions around conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Right Person, Right Seat Analysis: Work with Executive Leadership monthly to ensure the org chart is up to date, evaluate role efficacy, and address personnel concerns and opportunities for growth.
- Leave of Absence Programs: Assist employees in navigating and administering leave programs (Paid Leave Oregon, OFLA , FMLA), advising them on next steps, completing appropriate paperwork, and ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
- Payroll: Process payroll accurately and on time, staying compliant with wage and hour regulations.
- Unemployment & Workers Comp Claims: Handle unemployment and worker’s compensation claims with accurate documentation and timely responses to agencies.
- Compliance: Stay up to date with Oregon employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance across all HR activities. Manage annual compliance calendar to track and complete necessary reporting and information distribution.
- Performance Reviews: Administer performance review cycle, managing review cadence for teams, overseeing documentation of quarterly and annual reviews, and equipping managers with tools for giving feedback consistently and fairly.
- Handbook & Policy: Responsible for the Employee Handbook to be updated and redistributed via HRIS on an annual basis. Advising managers and employees on policy guidelines and ensuring that processes are understood and implemented. Receiving feedback from team on policies and implementing changes as needed.
- Benefits: Day to day benefits administration with carriers and benefits platform. Educate employees on benefit options and assist them with navigating their benefits and making enrollment changes. Work with our broker to complete annual benefits renewals.
- HRIS Management: Administer all functions of our HRIS system, managing settings, permissions, employee data, and employee processes. Educate employees on how to use and navigate the system, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Employee Engagement: Collaborate with the Executive Leadership to issue annual employee engagement surveys, analyze the results, and create initiatives for improvement. Execute fun, engaging events and campaigns that promote team bonding and enhance the employee experience.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
