Role Summary The Accountant II supports accurate, GAAP-aligned Accounting records for a Credit Union environment, ensuring timely close activity and dependable reporting. Under the general direction of the Assistant Controller, this role prepares reconciliations and journal entries and helps maintain the integrity of the general ledger. Key Responsibilities Include Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations; research and resolve variances Assist with month-end close schedules and supporting documentation Maintain organized workpapers to support internal controls and audit requests Required Qualifications And Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field Minimum three years of progressive Accounting experience Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas) and accounting software proficiency Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; clear communication; detail-focused accuracy Ability to work hybrid from San Dimas, CA, Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:30pm (flexible 40 hours/week) A Typical Workday Review priorities for the Accounting calendar and confirming close-related timelines with the Assistant Controller. Spend focused blocks of time in Excel validating data sets, tracing variances, and ensuring support ties out cleanly before documentation is finalized. Coordinate with internal partners to clarify transaction details and update schedules and keep items audit-ready. Balance independent work with timely check-ins, using clear written notes to keep progress visible in a work-from-home flexible environment. Confirm that open items are resolved or appropriately escalated.
