2026-27 Head Baseball Coach (Central High) Kansas City School District - Central High School, Kansas City, Missouri Starting Date: Immediately Salary: $8,000 per year Position Type: Part-Time Purpose of the Job Provide leadership for the school’s athletic program, focusing on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the baseball program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate the baseball team in compliance with MSHSAA standards. Implement athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all required MSHSAA sessions. Assist in program coordination and supervision of students during practices and contests. Provide information and facilitate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management. Organize and schedule regular practice sessions with the goal of maximizing student-athlete potential. Emphasize safety precautions and apply best training and injury management procedures. Conduct oneself and the team in an ethical manner during practices and contests, exemplifying sportsmanship. Collect and return all school equipment per the KCMSD Athletic Department Handbook. Pursue professional growth through clinics and professional publications. Successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses. Fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development per year: District level meetings – 4 hrs School level meetings – 3 hrs Outside meetings/clinics – 1 hr Minimum Qualifications Hold a Teacher Certificate, a valid Substitute Certificate, or a Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate. Preferred Qualifications Be a full or part-time employee in the District. Currently employed as a teacher or administrator in a school within the District. Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds.
