Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) with Neuro focus. This travel assignment is a 13-week, on-site RN role in an acute care setting, starting 10/19/2026 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. You’ll work night shifts consisting of 12-hour duties, three nights per week. The assignment emphasizes neuro patients in a medical-surgical environment with some step-down responsibilities and requires EPIC electronic medical record experience. NIHSS competency is required for consideration, along with strong neuro and med/surg experience. A manager will interview and extend offers to qualified candidates. The profile must include a complete work history with minimal gaps, a skills checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys verification.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult neuro-med/surg patients, including stroke and post-operative neuro monitoring
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments, track NIHSS scores, identify changes, and communicate with the care team
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitor for adverse effects, and manage RN-initiated interventions as appropriate
- Document accurately in EPIC; maintain up-to-date care plans, vital signs, fluid balance, and other clinical data
- Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, and step-down teams to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
- Facilitate patient and family education, discharge planning, and transition of care while maintaining unit standards

Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific licensure) with Nursys verification
- Minimum 2 years' RN experience in Med Surg with neuro exposure; strong neuro-focused background required
- NIHSS documented competency (included in CV packet)
- ACLS certification; EPIC EMR experience
- Graduate of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN; BSN preferred)
- Ability to work night shift (12-hour shifts) and to operate effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- No block scheduling; weekends not required
