All applicants will receive consideration regardless of membership in any protected status as defined by applicable state or federal law, including protected veteran or disability statusQualificationsPrefer medical or monitor tech experienceCentral Monitoring Unit: Requires validation of competency by scoring a minimum of 90% on the Basic Dysrhythmia testMust be able to communicate effectively in English For current Deaconess incumbent(s) only at the time of acquisition (10/1/2018)ResponsibilitiesThe Monitor Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm strip printersMaintains accurate neat account of patients cardiac monitoring status during episode of careIdentifies and records patient rhythm in patient log as appropriateVerbally communicates report on pertinent patient/monitor data to/from appropriate colleaguesDuring code situations, maintains contact with appropriate staff to assist with rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia detectionContacts biomedical engineering in a timely manner when the monitor equipment malfunctionsEnsure and maintain proper operation and up keep of monitoring equipmentThe Monitor Technician reports to the Manager of Central Monitoring.Consistently viewing monitor screens for up to four hours at a time (and up to 8 hours per day).
