HR Technology Lead - Workday

Job Description

We partnered with a leading sports and entertainment organization headquartered in New York City to find an experienced Workday HRIS Technical Lead. This is a high-visibility role on the Technology team. You'll be the primary technical partner to HR leadership and own the organization's Workday platform end to end. This is a great way to join a well-known organization in a role with real ownership. You'll shape the HR technology strategy and lead its AI and automation efforts.

What you'll do

\n

• Lead full-lifecycle Workday implementations, from design and configuration through data conversion, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
\n
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday HCM, including business processes, security, organizations, compensation, and supervisory structures.
\n
• Build and maintain integrations using EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, SOAP/REST web services, and calculated fields.
\n
• Manage biannual Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and rollout of new functionality.
\n
• Act as the lead business analyst for HR technology, translating business needs into scalable Workday solutions.
\n
• Oversee implementation partners and vendors so that work lands on time, on budget, and to standard.
\n
• Own the HR technology roadmap and deliver reporting, dashboards, and analytics, including Prism where applicable.
\n
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to use Workday AI, automation, and emerging tools to modernize HR operations and improve the employee experience, with attention to security and data privacy.

What you bring

• Deep expertise in Workday HCM configuration, business processes, and security.
\n
• Strong technical skills in Workday integrations, reporting, and data management.
\n
• A solid understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
\n
• A track record of leading implementation workstreams and cross-functional teams.
\n
• Experience evaluating and implementing automation and AI solutions, and the ability to explain their value and risk to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Workday certifications in HCM, Integrations, or Reporting.
\n
• Experience with additional modules such as Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Prism, or Extend.
\n
• Exposure to Greenhouse and Asana.
\n
• Familiarity with generative AI platforms like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or Workday AI, and with workforce analytics or predictive modeling.
