Accounts Payable Accountant l

Accounts Payable Accountant I Position: Accounts Payable Accountant I (Specialist) – Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). Salary: $3,934.00 – $4,923.00 per month. Full‑time, onsite office attendance required. Responsibilities Responsible for managing the Accounts Payable Unit’s electronic group mailbox, printing, reviewing, sorting, scanning and distributing invoices for approval and payment, addressing payment inquiries, routing invoices through PeopleSoft Financial System, validating purchase orders and funding availability, processing less complex invoices and claim schedules, and complying with State Administrative Manual and accounting procedures. Qualifications The candidate must have experience in accounts payable activities, including processing vendor invoices, reviewing purchase orders and contracts, and preparing State Controller’s Office claim schedules. Knowledge of California Code of Regulations, State Administrative Manual and related agreements is required. Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment are essential. Experience with general ledger records, financial data, reporting, and reconciliation. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Proactive, innovative and strong attention to detail.
