Staff Accountant

Addison Group is partnering with a multibillion-dollar, publicly traded industry leader to identify a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with SEC reporting in a highly visible role. You’ll work closely with corporate accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, and IT to support accurate and timely external financial filings while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days in office) Key Responsibilities Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including financial statements (10-Q, 10-K) and related disclosures Prepare supporting schedules and maintain tie‑out documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings Partner cross‑functionally with internal teams and external auditors to coordinate timely reporting Assist with earnings releases, board materials, and investor presentations Participate in the XBRL tagging process to ensure proper financial data presentation Contribute to process improvements and support SOX compliance initiatives Perform technical accounting research and assist with ad hoc projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent) 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry, with exposure to SEC reporting Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Why This Role High‑visibility position with exposure to senior leadership Opportunity to develop SEC reporting expertise at a large public company Collaborative, team‑oriented environment Strong focus on process improvement and career growth $80K–$90K base salary + 10% bonus Comprehensive benefits package, including medical (Blue Cross Blue Shield), life, and disability insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Addison Group
