Transportation Coordinator

Remote role

Job Description:

• This role is remote. We prefer that candidates live near one of our factories: St. Louis MO, Davenport IA, Crete, NE, etc.). Manager is based in Hereford, TX. Heavy preference on candidates in the Midwest.
• This is a remote contract role will support a small transportation team of three.
• The contractor will complete day to day transportation planning activities including scheduling, tendering, product issue resolution, and email communication, while working cross functionally with Operations Planning and Warehouse/Plant teams.
• The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage competing requests in a fast-paced environment.
• They should take ownership of issues, proactively problem solve, and follow items through to resolution.
• Transportation or inventory experience is helpful but not required, SAP and Excel experience are a plus.
• The role requires reliable availability during core business hours, with willingness to support occasional overtime and holiday rotation.

Role Overview:

• Communication & Coordination: Clear, professional written and verbal communication. Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders at once. Ability to prioritize and manage competing requests.
• Problem Solving & Ownership: Able to identify issues early and escalate appropriately. Comfortable making day to day execution decisions. Follows problems through to closure (not just hand offs).
• Organization & Time Management: Strong task management in a fast-moving environment. Can balance routine execution work with unexpected issues. Comfortable working in a role where priorities may shift daily.

Experience Expectations:

• Transportation or inventory management experience not required, but a plus.
• Systems & Data Comfort: SAP experience helpful (not required)
• Excel skills helpful: Filters, sorting, basic formulas. Reviewing data for accuracy.
• Comfortable working across multiple systems and tools.

Work Expectations:

• Reliable availability during core business hours.
• Willingness to support occasional overtime.
• Participation in holiday rotation.
