Senior accounting clerk

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, is highly organized, and has hands-on experience using Sage 100 Contractor.

salary: $30 - $38 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Enter invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries into Sage 100 Contractor.
• Maintain job costing records, project cost codes, and supporting financial documentation.
• Assist with customer billing, collections, vendor reconciliations, and lien release tracking.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
• Support payroll processing, timecard verification, and employee record maintenance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare supporting reports.
• Maintain organized accounting records and assist with audits and compliance documentation.
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal departments regarding accounting inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Skills

• Sage 100 Contractor (3 years of experience is preferred)
• Accounts Payable (3 years of experience is preferred)
• Accounts Receivable (3 years of experience is preferred)
• month end close (3 years of experience is preferred)
