About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Correctional Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required; 2 years preferred License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB (facility will provide) Must-Have: Experience in substance withdrawal and detox, preferably in a correctional setting Description: Seeking a registered nurse for a correctional specialty position focused on medication-assisted treatment and detox. The role involves overseeing patient assessments and treatments related to substance withdrawal processes. The nurse will primarily cover the addictions medicine department, managing Suboxone and methadone medication administration. It is essential to learn all positions in the correctional setting, but focus will be on the addictions department. The nurse will be responsible for the assessment and monitoring of patients during the induction process. Candidates must have experience with high patient ratios and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CIWA and a background in detox and withdrawal management is preferred. No locals within a 100-mile radius will be accepted. COVID vaccine is optional; however, reporting is required. Candidates must pass a facility background check before starting. Weekend shifts will be required every other week. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 1800-1950. Expected patient diagnoses include opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, and poly-substance use. Candidates without correctional experience must have at least one year of emergency department experience. All candidates will undergo a background check and orientation training upon hire.
