Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist processes accounts and incoming payments in strict compliance with established financial policies and procedures. This role performs day-to-day financial transactions, prepares billing and deposit documentation, reconciles the accounts receivable ledger, and resolves client billing issues. The specialist facilitates timely payment of invoices through proactive communication and generates financial statements and reports that clearly detail the status of accounts receivable.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.

• Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits accurately and on schedule.

• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

• Identify, verify, and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable records and client billing.

• Address and resolve clients’ billing issues in a timely and professional manner.

• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients directly.

• Conduct B2B collections activities to follow up on outstanding balances.

• Apply cash receipts accurately to customer accounts and invoices.

• Generate financial statements and reports that clearly detail the status of accounts receivable.

• Support both manual and automated accounts receivable processes and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on accounts receivable (AR) experience.

• Strong experience with both manual and automated AR processes.

• Proficiency with Excel for AR tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.

• Demonstrated B2B collections experience, including contacting clients and following up on outstanding invoices.

• Cash applications experience, including accurate posting of payments to customer accounts.

• Ability to reconcile complex accounts receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and documentation.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders regarding billing and payments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.

• Ability to work comfortably with both manual and automated AR systems and tools.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.

• Analytical skills to interpret AR reports and identify issues or trends.

• Comfort with generating financial statements and status reports related to accounts receivable.

This is a fully onsite position in a professional office setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Shoreview, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
