Company Description Optimal Care Services provides high-quality Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children ages 3–5. Services are delivered in settings such as the home, school, library, or other locations mandated in the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Care is provided by certified special education teachers and trained practitioners, ensuring specialized support tailored to each child’s needs. Programming and supervision are led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to maintain evidence-based practices and consistent quality. The organization is focused on collaborative, child-centered care that supports families and educational partners. Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in New York, NY. This role oversees day‑to‑day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention of special education teachers, ABA practitioners, and support staff. The Human Resources Manager will manage employee relations, performance management processes, and assist supervisors with coaching and development. The role includes maintaining HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations, and keeping accurate employee records. The Human Resources Manager will also support payroll and benefits administration, coordinate training and professional development initiatives, and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with the organization’s mission. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management. Knowledge of HR compliance, including labor laws, confidentiality requirements, and best practices in documentation and record‑keeping. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with staff and leadership. Organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs in a fast‑paced environment. Experience supporting or working within education, special education, or healthcare services settings is highly beneficial. Proficiency with HRIS systems and standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, shared digital platforms). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant HR certifications (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR) are a plus.
