VP Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $150,000 to $160,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the preparation and filing of regulatory reports, ensuring timely submission and compliance with FDIC and state-specific guidelines.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Lead the development and execution of the annual budget and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads and utilizing financial analysis software.
• Partner effectively with other departments, including lending, operations, and compliance, to support financial accuracy and business objectives.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• Have at least 10+ years of progressive experience in bank accounting and financial reporting, including 5+ years in a management role.
• Possess a thorough understanding of GAAP, banking regulations, and financial institution accounting practices.
• Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data modeling, and automation.
• Show significant experience with database management tools (e.g., SQL, Access) for data extraction and reporting.

• Maintain strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Exhibit strong collaboration and leadership skills to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Apply project management expertise to lead and execute financial initiatives under strict deadlines.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with Vena Financial Planning and Analysis software (preferred) and knowledge of investments, interest rate risk management, and funds management principles.
