Litigation Associate Attorney

The position is remote/virtual, but we are looking for someone based in Washington State with the ability to travel to the Seattle area for in-person meetings, court appearances, etc. when needed. The virtual nature of this job requires a motivated, tech-comfortable individual with strong communication skills. Successful candidates will have experience defending complex litigation matters involving bodily injury, defending doctors, health care providers, nurses and other medical professionals in medical malpractice claims, and representing medical professionals in licensing proceedings. Associates will be supported in growing their skillset and individual book of business. What You'll Do: Independently manage and support a caseload of medical malpractice and related healthcare-liability defense matters from intake through resolution. Draft and argue motions, conduct and defend depositions, and manage discovery, including review of complex medical records. Research and analysis of complex legal issues. Develop case strategy in partnership with partners and communicate directly with clients and insurance representatives. Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials. Represent healthcare professionals in licensing, credentialing, and Department of Health / professional board matters as needed. Stay current on developments in medical malpractice and healthcare liability law. What We're Looking For: Washington State bar license, active and in good standing. 5+ years of civil litigation experience; medical malpractice, healthcare liability, or insurance defense experience strongly preferred. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex medical facts into clear, persuasive arguments. Confidence taking and defending depositions and appearing in court. A collaborative, client-focused approach and sound judgment working independently in a remote environment. Strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills, and comfort with standard legal technology and remote-collaboration tools. Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000, depending on experience 401(k) retirement and profit-sharing plan.
