Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients, documenting case histories from the initial consultation to treatment conclusion.

• Assess and evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
\n
• Develop evidence-based intervention and recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using established therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

• Continuously monitor client progress throughout the treatment plan and re-evaluate strategies as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, doctors, and nurses, to create comprehensive intervention plans.

• Engage in follow-up communications with psychiatrists and primary care physicians for clients who have required hospitalization.
\n
• Proactively identify and address behavior patterns that may hinder client recovery, ensuring the highest level of care.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clients will primarily include individuals from diverse backgrounds experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship difficulties. We emphasize a holistic approach to mental health, ensuring that your therapeutic interventions are culturally competent and responsive to the unique needs of each client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred.
\n
• A strong understanding of comorbid physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices in counseling.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compassionately engage clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong sense of empathy.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with a sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.
