Work Environment\n

This role will be primarily remote, allowing you to provide mental health counseling flexibly and conveniently. You will be part of an innovative outpatient office that prioritizes collaboration, teamwork, and professional growth. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient demand. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments to identify the specific needs and concerns of children and adolescents, utilizing standardized tools and observational techniques.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that take into account the child’s developmental stage, family dynamics, and cultural background, ensuring that interventions are relevant and effective.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and play therapy, to address a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety and behavioral issues.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, strengthening relationships, and providing caregivers with guidance on creating supportive environments for their children.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists, social workers, and educational professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each patient's care, which may include regular case consultations and multidisciplinary team meetings.

• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, recognizing the urgency in addressing acute issues affecting young individuals.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatment options, fostering empowerment and participation in the therapeutic process.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education opportunities and participate in workshops and training sessions relevant to child and adolescent mental health.

• Stay updated on current research and best practices in the field of child psychology and psychiatry to ensure high-quality care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this position will include working with children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. Your expertise will be imperative in helping them navigate complex issues such as anxiety disorders, depressive symptoms, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and various behavioral disorders. By addressing these concerns, you'll contribute to improving their overall mental and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited college or university.

• Current and valid licensure, including LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT, in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of experience post-licensure in the mental health field, with a focus on child and adolescent populations preferred.

• Strong understanding of various child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and effective communication with children and families.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology for documentation and treatment planning.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a patient-centered approach to care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
