Chief Architect Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Chief Architect to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and execution of cross-functional improvement plans for areas of the GO platform, based on the above evaluation criteria;
- Work with technical leads and product managers in developing product strategies and roadmaps;
- Maintain awareness and expertise in MOSSAIC-relevant technology;
- Oversee EA implementation, continuous improvement and ongoing refinement activities;
- Promote the business value of the EA program and its process, and the results of the EA program to business and IT leaders;
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of EA standards, as necessary;
- Supervise the development of As Is and To Be capability assessments for the MOSSAIC program;
- Lead the development of integrated enterprise and system-level roadmaps for the modernization effort;
- Oversee the documentation of all enterprise architecture design and analysis work;
- Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with EA compliance;
- Identify candidate technologies, opportunities for commonality across MOSSAIC systems and opportunities for data sharing between MOSSAIC systems;
- Seek opportunities to highlight how digital business initiatives will potentially impact business outcomes;
- Develop and present technical presentation to senior Government personnel;
- Serve as the Program Manager’s senior technical expert on MOSSAIC program modernization initiatives;
- Supervise the team responsible for transitioning to DevOps.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, or Human Resources;
- Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders;
- Master’s degree in engineering or physical science with 10+ years of relevant engineering experience and 10+ years in engineering management roles;
- Ability to balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions;
- Experience presenting briefings to senior customer management, customer stakeholders, and company management;
- Extensive experience with technical leadership, defining visions/solutions, and collaborating/driving to see them to completion;
- Ability to estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives;
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance;
- Ability to navigate complex IT and business organizational structure to accomplish goals and gain buy-in;
- 10+ years in architecture ecosystem design (5+ years with integration components);
- Kubernetes supporting enterprise solutions: Kubernetes platforms, Docker, Aqua, Twistlock;
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field;
- Implementation experience of cloud data platform technologies (Amazon Web Services);
- Active Secret Clearance or higher required.
