Cost Accounting Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Cost Accounting Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Actively drives collaboration with business partners;
- Assist with month-end and year-end close of General Ledger;
- Drives & Supports Lonza Houston, Inc’s month end close process;
- Work with warehouse and site controller to review and dispose of obsolete inventory;
- Prepare reports monthly for business units comparing factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services;
- Maintain a cost accounting system;
- Assists with the development of budgeting and forecasting;
- Monitors and report capital project & cost center spending;
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts;
- Analyze changes in raw materials used in all production facilities;
- Work with multiple business units in the US and outside the US;
- Develop cost standards for materials and labor;
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies;
- Shares responsibility for Management reporting and analysis;
- Monitors and executes the Internal Control System and ensures accordance with FAM (Financial Accounting Manual) and MAM (Management Accounting Manual).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;
- Familiarity with IFRS practices;
- SAP experience, Advanced Level;
- Advanced Excel skills;
- Bio/Pharma Preferred;

- Strong communication skills, organization skills and time management skills;
- Cost Accounting/BOM experience preferred;
- Ability to work independently;
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
- Detail oriented;
- JDE experience a plus;
- Strong PC and analytical skills. (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP in Excel.).
