Our company is looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development and final review of scope, buy-out and schedule;
  • Informs president of any major problems on the job;
  • Maintain and review punch list processes to ensure all are addressed and executed in a timely manner;
  • Reports to the Project Manager on a daily basis, especially when there are any occurrences that can affect the successful completion of the project;
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems on projects before they become major issues;
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees;
  • Complies with all policies and procedures of Robbins Construction;
  • Assists in preparing the project close out manual and plans for the owner and reviews final product with owner or owner’s rep;
  • Keeps time card and turns in to office manager monthly;
  • Works in partnership with the project manager to identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope during the preconstruction phase;
  • Exceeds client expectations for each project by understanding client needs, wants, preferences and culture;
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities, maintains an organized job site, including the construction office;
  • Understands all of the contractual obligations of the plans, specifications, addendums and submittals for their project;
  • Prepares and sends weekly project updates to the owner(s), project manager, and president;
  • Oversees all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control and a clean site.

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in operating computer technology as it relates to business use;
  • Review subcontractors scope of work and all change order requests;
  • Creating and maintaining a culture that values safety, health and cleanliness;
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications;
  • Must have a minimum of 5 – 7 years experience as site superintendent for commercial construction projects in the $500K-$3+ MM range;
  • Maintain client relationships utilizing strong communication skills;
  • Manage the day-to-day field activities to ensure that the project milestone dates and overall schedule completion date is met;
  • Obtaining all inspections and ensuring that the quality aspects of the physical work are fully documented.
