Our company is looking for a Civil Engineer in Training to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans and design calculations for civil infrastructure improvements;
  • Assist with the preparation of Engineers Opinion of Probable Cost;
  • Coordination and communication with other engineers/consultants, agency staff, client representatives, and/or other team members;
  • Assist with the preparation of drainage reports, SWPPP documents, and erosion control plans;
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using steady state, unsteady state, 1-D and 2-D models;
  • Deployment to natural disaster areas for recovery operations is available if desired. Not required;
  • Attend project meetings involving communication to clients and/or governmental officials;
  • Assist in developing technical documents including reports, presentations, exhibits/figures, drawings, tables, etc;
  • Perform watershed planning studies to achieve flood reduction, water quality and ecological benefits;
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager or Project Lead;
  • Performs calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software;
  • Implements sustainable design principles ;
  • Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent;
  • Assists in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials;
  • Prepares and revises documentation in various project phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.

Requirements:

  • Licensed EIT in the state of Texas;
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must;
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task;
  • Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in Spanish is a plus;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project . ect);
  • 0-4 Years progressive experience in Civil Engineering design;
  • Knowledge, experience, and ability to perform computer tasks with Microstation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D software.
