Drainage Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Stormwater management reports;
- Design projects such as storm sewer, retention / detention basin , cross drain;
- Investigate Stormwater and drainage issues and provide solutions;
- Water quality analysis;
- Hydrologic analysis;
- Compile and coordinate of engineering documents including permit packages and design documentation reports;
- Coordinate plans, calculations and specifications amongst multi-discipline engineering teams.
Requirements:
- EIT or PE license eligible;
- Experience with IDOT and municipal water districts preferred;
- 5+ years of drainage design including storm sewer, ditch and channel design;
- Bachelor’s or greater in civil engineering or related field;
- Proficient in Microstation, Geopak, AdiCPR, HECRAS, Autocad and ArcGIS;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and with large multi-discipline engineering teams is important;
- Desirable modeling experience with ASAD, ICPR, HY-8 or HEC-RAS is a strong plus;
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college;
- Proficiency in Microstation/GEOPAK;
- Engineer Intern (EI) or Florida Professional Engineer license (PE) is preferred;
- Familiarity with FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards, also a strong plus.
