Our company is looking for a Electrical Power Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creation of bills of materials for major equipment;
  • Lead interconnection designs and equipment selection;
  • Lead the development of substation general arrangement and elevations, control room layouts, and grounding designs;
  • Evaluate electrical equipment submittals per customer requirements and applicable standards;
  • Lead engineering and design activities for medium/high voltage substations, switchyards, distribution, and transmission systems;
  • Perform system studies for renewable energy interconnection, primary service and utility projects;
  • Provide technical guidance and support for installation/manufacturing teams;
  • Develop single/ three line diagrams for medium/ high voltage systems;
  • Perform in-process quality verification checks in accordance with the QMS;
  • Design substation protection and control systems including schematic and wiring diagrams and control panel layouts;
  • Prepare relay settings, coordination and arc flash reports, and modeling of power systems;
  • Support Sales and Business Development group with conceptual designs.

Requirements:

  • Experience on renewable energy projects a plus;
  • ETAP/SKM experience performing arc flash, short circuit, relay coordination studies and conductor sizing;
  • Five (5) years of experience in substation engineering and/or electrical design and construction of medium and high voltage distribution systems;
  • Knowledge of computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks;
  • Experience working for a design/build oriented contractor a plus;
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, utility and local codes and standards;
  • Registered Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) in California with ability to obtain PE licenses in other states;
  • ABET accredited BS degree in Engineering.
