Our company is looking for a Structural Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing neat and organized calculations;
  • Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned;
  • Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner;
  • Designing and drafting elements and details;
  • Positive experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate ability to integrate data;
  • Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items;
  • Interact with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders in a positive manner;
  • Work individually and as a team member on various projects with knowledge of importance of specific role in team success;
  • Performing basic analysis of project elements;
  • Work independently under the guidance of a Project Engineer and/or Project Manager;
  • Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects;
  • Working independently under the guidance of a Senior Engineer;
  • Design and draft project elements and component details;
  • Perform basic analysis of project elements and back checking work.

Requirements:

  • An Associate’s Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • The ability to design and engineer products/structures that are safe, economical, profitable and functioning;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Four or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings;
  • Communication, interaction and persuasive skills are absolutely necessary in dealing with other engineers and team members;
  • AutoCAD, RISA 3D (for steel, aluminum and structural design) an Hilti PROFIS;
  • The ability to proficiently use measuring tools, scanning tools and other various engineering and survey tools;
  • The ability to perform complex mathematics;
  • Basic knowledge of building/bridge construction;
  • Basic knowledge of general purpose structural analysis programs (including finite element analysis);
  • The ability to travel to various job locations in other states;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written – e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.);
  • The ability to use code books, manuals and technical guides to do necessary research;
  • Demonstrate competent use of Microsoft Office products.
