Responsibilities:

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer;

Requirements:

  • An understanding of the practical application of structural engineering including applying principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design;
  • Knowledge of the practical application of structural engineering including loads analysis for structural supports, and design integrity;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications;
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318;
  • Familiarity with finite element modeling software such as ABAQUS, or ANSYS;
  • Interest in obtaining P.E. or S.E. license within 4 years;
  • Strong educational achievement commensurate with coursework and academic load;
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, and ACI 350;
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training;
  • Ability to work productively independently and as a member of a project team;
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering calculations;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university;
  • Detail and quality oriented;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel MS Project and Outlook).
