Completes support tasks related to the design and implementation of hardware and/or software for the systems. Being a Systems Engineering Technician I tracks and reports on systems performance. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Systems Engineering Technician I typically reports to a manager. The Systems Engineering Technician I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Our company is looking for a Systems Engineering Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains calibration and system integrity records as required;
  • Monitor performance of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and respond as necessary;
  • Prepares schematics and records of installed system parameters;
  • Modify, design, and change control circuits as required to support additional systems or to sustain temporary operations;
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist in preparations of requisitions and purchase required materials, parts, and services needed for repairs;
  • Performs routine calibration and configuration control on electronic equipment;
  • Generates & maintains Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases including water & wastewater systems;
  • Provides software administration through support of Lucity asset/work management in various City departments;
  • Update the asset management system and review system reports for pending work orders, backlog work request and preventive maintenance schedules;
  • Maintain required reports;
  • Trains users, answers questions, troubleshoot problems, perform required maintenance and assist in system upgrades;
  • Required to respond to after hours alarms and emergencies;
  • Uses & assists other staff with the use of GIS programs;
  • Inspect contractor/vendor installations for compatibility and functionality with control systems interface;
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, update, and repair malfunctioning recording and transmitting devices, etc..

Requirements:

  • Certifications/License: A valid Kansas driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required. Journeyman Electrical license is preferred;
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Minimum of two (2) years technical training in electronic maintenance is preferred.
