Claims Analyst Job Description

Claims Analyst analyzes and reviews insurance claims for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility. Reviews claims for eligibility to be reimbursed. Being a Claims Analyst maintains updated records and prepares required documentation. Assists in controlling the cost of processing claims. Additionally, Claims Analyst contacts policyholders about claims and may provide information regarding the amount of benefits. May require a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Claims Analyst typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Claims Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes documented team processes to ensure compliance with departmental standards;
  • Communicates immediately to leadership all obstacles to completing work;
  • Verifies data and processing requirements and makes corrections as necessary;
  • Data entry and verification of information;
  • Drafts claimant facing communications based on guidance provided;
  • Reviews and distributes reports on work assignments, escalations, and/or QA results;
  • Follows written procedures and scripts;
  • Consistently seeks out opportunities to contribute to the team’s productivity goals;
  • Manage Orgami daily tasks;
  • Files TL and LTL cargo claims with respective carriers and insurers and enters claim and incident data into Oragami;
  • Responsible for internal and external claims reporting;
  • Provides customers with routine updates regarding claim status;
  • Review incoming claim documents and follow-up on incomplete requests;
  • Review notices of settlement and denial for validity;
  • Improve claims processes and participate in special projects.

Requirements:

  • Detail oriented with superior organizational skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of Access or equivalent, Excel, and other MS office applications a plus.
