Our company is looking for a Event Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Reports directly to Regional Director of Events & Retail;
  • Develops events and in-house promotions;
  • Develop major events in shoulder seasons to increase overnight occupancy;
  • Increase attendance to events by using various marketing strategies;
  • Strategize and plan events, including new events and the improvement of existing events;
  • Coordinates marketing efforts with Director of Marketing & Communications for grant funded events;
  • Serves as manager on duty as required;
  • Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments;
  • Establish and maintain successful working relationships with all internal and external partners to ensure a high-quality event;
  • Works extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed;
  • Manage the preparation and production of event materials, including timely shipping to venues;
  • Directs the work of groups of employees (leads through managers);
  • Manage internal and external partner staffing requirements and coordinate all logistics for event teams;
  • Negotiate vendor contracts in partnership with our Legal team.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, Degree preferred in Business, Communications, or related field;
  • Manage on-site volunteers, and effectively utilize their roles to maximize efficiency and program success;
  • Support the Family Programs Department and the HSF briefings, as needed;
  • Provide necessary reports to Director to assist with data-driven decision making;
  • Strong communicator and collaborator; able to work with a variety of teams and personalities;
  • Ability to coach, train and motivate others;
  • Experience with writing presentation abstracts;
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience with event management;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience with company-hosted user conferences is a plus;
  • Ability to be assertive and persuasive;
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and high personal expectations for quality;
  • Demonstrate the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budgeting and other administrative duties;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Experience tracking and communicating event impact and ROI.
