Our company is looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Present estimates to clients in a timely and polite manner;
  • Assist with bid closeout and final proposal preparations;
  • 8+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator preferably within DPR’s core markets;
  • Work with the estimating team to produce project schedules;
  • Effective participation in team environment, with both external and internal teammates;
  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills;
  • Develop strong relationships with subcontractors and trades;
  • Prepares Estimating Work accomplished by gathering information and requires establishing individual and group priorities;
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work;
  • Tracks value creation items from development through inclusion and documents in project documentation;
  • This job is salaried;
  • Coordinates feasibility studies on life-cycle costs of building systems;
  • Prepares material and other costs summary for quotes from vendors;
  • Develops and maintains client and subcontractor relationships;
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with customers, employees, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of unit costs and the factors that affect construction cost;
  • Experience with heavy civil estimating software: HCSS, Hard Dollar, Blue Beam, etc;
  • Make subcontractor award recommendations to customer/owner and the negotiation and finalization of subcontracts with trade partners;
  • Handling the project from first estimate all the way through subcontracts being formalized;
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills;
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology;
  • Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors;
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times;
  • Ability to lead and manage Preconstruction Services;
  • Conduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided;
  • Good eye for detail;
  • Result-focused – able to effectively delegate and follow-up;
  • Strong leadership, conflict management and communication skills (verbal and written) – able to build rapport and negotiate skillfully;
  • Exposure to Estimating software.
