Our company is looking for a Underwriter Trainee to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Learn how to negotiate price, coverage, and terms for renewals;
- Develop proficiency in insurance theories and practices;
- Develop expertise in analyzing customer needs;
- Collaborate with underwriters, claims, and marketing in an effort to learn business and processes;
- Build relationships with agents;
- Demonstrate an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting underwriting information.
Requirements:

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/peers;
- Demonstrated self-starter;
- Must have valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing;
- Recent college graduate preferred;
- Risk Management and Insurance degree preferred;
- Must be willing to travel at company expense with company overnight accommodations during the training program;
- Must show sound, balanced and timely decision making skills;
- Analytical thinking: Superior abstract reasoning ability and substantial critical thinking skills;
- Stress Management: Function effectively under pressure;
- Communication Skills: Provide effective and clear communicate in conversations, interactions with others and in writing.
