Our company is looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, planning and managing the data migration process;
  • Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan;
  • Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collate, document and communicate the data migration requirements;
  • Work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment;
  • Work across multiple functional projects to understand data usage and implications for data migration;
  • Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities;
  • Work with customers in gathering technical requirements for data migration needs;
  • Share knowledge with team members and develop customer solutions efficiently;
  • Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping;
  • Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another;
  • Creation of end-user documentation for the new repository, as well as mentoring & training as needed;
  • Attaching metadata to documents by analyzing their content or working with knowledgeable owners or teams;
  • Identification of, or creation of, cost-effective tools that may automate data migration;
  • Updating and maintaining a database of records which index and reference archived documents;
  • Migration of key documents from legacy tools to a common SharePoint-based repository by following established processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Software Development tools: Toad, Golden, SQL Loader, T-SQL, and/or Import/Export tools;
  • Some knowledge of SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) tools but not required;
  • Must have 7 – 10 years of experience with the following: PL/SQL & SQL Plus background, and/or SQL Loader, plus Oracle 12c, SQL Server 2016;
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server and ETL processes;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on client questions, problems or malfunctions of feed related systems applications;
  • Inform management of potential problems and identifies problem trends;
  • Document problems and solutions in the TFS ticketing system and Salesforce;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including a wide range of architectures and technologies;
  • Minimum of 5 years of overall technical experience is required;
  • Bachelor s degree in an Engineering, Science or related field discipline;
  • Proficiency with SQL and XML;
  • Excellent collaboration skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Familiarity with MS Access databases.
