Our company is looking for a Database Administrator II to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours;
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product life-cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems;
- Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems;
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes;
- Provide Support for Production SSIS processes;
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end;
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations;
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement;
- Provide Guidance to SSIS developers;
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentor-ship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Requirements:
- Some programming skills such as Python is a plus;
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models;
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality;
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment;
- Experience with performance, tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools;
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server;
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related or the equivalent work experience;
- Microsoft Database certifications a plus;
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory;
- Ability to organize and plan work independently;
- 3+ years of MS SQL Server Administration experience required;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Hadoop experience is a plus;
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams;
- Can communicate fluently in English.
