ETL Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a ETL Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Extract, Transformation and Load data – extract necessary data and transfer it to new system;
- Support ongoing ETL efforts for Development, QA and Production environments;
- Demonstrate successful ownership in completion of analysis, technical design, and programming;
- Document our functional and technical solutions as a contribution to our long-term, sustainable knowledge capital documentation;
- Champion data quality, integrity and reliability by designing and promoting best practices;
- Develop database objects, and create ETL processes;
- Learn and apply data warehousing best practices along with DECO specific architecture, standards and design patterns and best practices;
- Write the design and mapping specifications for ETL development;
- Implement changes and provide post-implementation user support and system support;
- Design BI reports;
- Make recommendations and advise on data refresh, optimization of data, data storage, and data integration among two or more systems;
- Collaborate with team to manage risk as it pertains to data, software, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and data modeling;
- Ensure overall quality of code;
- Work with data owners to document data mappings and transformations to support effective downstream analytics and alerts;
- Validate that data standards are implemented across several interfaces with other applications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field;
- Should have worked in complex Oracle platforms involving optimization;
- Strong data analysis, design skills and troubleshooting skills ;
- Experience developing internal business applications and business integration;
- 8 to 10 years Strong experience with PL/SQL , Oracle database 11g + and related technologies ;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing data architecture (i.e., warehouses, marts, lakes, etc.);
- Secret Clearance (or higher level) required, or the ability to obtain one;
- Must be a US Citizen;
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field ;
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query plan / explain plan analysis, indexing, table partitioning;
- Ability to work in agile kind of environment;
- Ability to help PM/GM conceptualize, design, construct, test and implement technology;
- Experience with SDLC processes and TFS or comparable source control tool;
- Communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders/vendors/operators;
- Train and retain members of the technology group as a part of knowledge management activity.
