Junior Database Administrator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Junior Database Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Participate in Service Disruption events and Disaster Recovery exercises;
- Provide support internally for any technical issues requiring escalation;
- Assists in determining, planning, and implementing necessary changes to the IT infrastructure as needed;
- Identify and implement automation opportunities;
- Ongoing Cross-Training of Technical and Process knowledge;
- Develop and promote standard processes and procedures;
- Participates in rotational schedule to assist with Heavy Patch Deployment nights (e.g. Thursday and Saturday);
- Participates on projects teams to provide support and consultation as needed;
- Review and Complete Incident, Work Order, e-Form, and Other IT Infrastructure-related requests.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements as it pertains to database administration;
- Knowledge of data warehouse design and implementation best practices, especially the Kimball methodology;
- Experience using dbatools PowerShell module;
- Experience and Working Knowledge of Storage Area Network Infrastructure;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Knowledge of Batch Scheduling tools (CAWA/ESP, CA7, Zeke);
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Citrix);
- Experience and Working Knowledge of Linux and UNIX Server OS;
- CCNA certification;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office toolset;
- Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking product;
- Database knowledge/experience with SQL or Oracle;
- Knowledge of print queues, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, etc;
- Experience and Knowledge of Data Center Working Environment;
- Familiar with Data Network/Transport Environments.
